Hyper-V Hardware Requirements
Check that your computer meets the Hyper-V role hardware and software requirements:
Run the systeminfo command in run>cmd to check if your CPU meets the Hyper-V requirements. Scroll down to the Hyper-V Requirements section. The following items should be listed here:

Although a CPU may include support for hardware-assisted virtualization, many computers do not have this feature enabled by default. Restart the device, enter the BIOS/UEFI configuration menu, ensure that the appropriate virtualization feature is enabled.
Search for the CPU configuration section, then look for the following firmware options if available and enable them:

Installing the Hyper-V Roles in Windows Server
Before proceeding, Make sure that the Windows OS is activated
Steps to Enable Hyper-V in Windows Server 2022
From Windows Server 2008 up to Windows Server 2019, you could install Hyper-V as a server role through Server Manager or as a standalone Hyper-V server (Server Core). Starting from Windows Server 2022, Microsoft didn’t release Hyper-V as a standalone product, but you can still install it as a server role. Here is how to do it.
Downloading the Virtual appliance for Hyper-V
VHD format of GravityZone Virtual Appliance is required to download for Hyper-V
Below is the overview of the VA appliance supported.
Supported formats and virtualization platforms
GravityZone is delivered as a virtual appliance (VA). It is available in the following formats, which support most common virtualization platforms:
*OVF and RAW packages are archived in tar.bz2 format.

On the Action section navigate to Quick Create and select New Virtual Machine as shown in Figure (q)
A new virtual machine wizard will open, click next as shown in Figure (r)
Now Specify the location of the Virtual machine where you wanted it to be created as shown in Figure (s)
Figure (t)
Specify the VM name and the location where you want to store it as shown in Figure (t)
Figure (u)
Assign the RAM as per the Hardware requirements required for the No. of users, currently we had assigned 8 GB as shown in Figure (u)
Figure (v)
Currently we are not going to configure the network so leave it as it is and click next as shown in Figure (v)
Figure (w)
We need to select Generation 1 as per the VHD file downloaded Figure (w)
Figure (x)
Next we will be prompted to Connect the Virtual Hard Disk as shown in Figure (x)
Figure (y)
Instead of creating a New Virtual Hard disk, we need to select the hard disk which we already downloaded from the Bitdefender Download Portal as shown in Figure (y)
Figure (z)
Next you will be see the summary of the settings configured in the wizard as shown in Figure(z)
Figure (i)
Once done you now will see that the virtual machine is created and ready to power on as shown in Figure (i)
Figure (ii)
Select the Bitdefender VM and under action section on the right bottom panel, you will see the Virtual machine settings option Click on it as shown in Figure (ii)
Figure (iii)
Now you will see VM setting window to modify as per our requirement as shown in Figure (iii)
Figure (iv)
Scroll down and select the Processor in the left panel and increase the processor count as per the Hardware requirements and click on OK as shown in Figure (iv)
Figure (v)
you now will be back on the Hyper-V manager as shown in Figure (v)
Figure (vi)
Now click on Virtual Switch Manager under action section on the Right top panel as shown in the Figure (vi)
Figure (vii)
Now you will see the Virtual switch manager window, Select External and click Create virtual switch as shown in Figure (vii)
Under connection type select the interface on which you want your clients to be communicated, in my case I had selected “Intel Gigabit Network “. Also enable the sharing of OS network adapter with the VM by check/enabling it and click on OK as shown in Figure (viii)
Figure (ix)
Click on Yes to make the required changes as shown in Figure (ix)
Figure (x)
Now click on the VM settings in the Right bottom Panel as shown in Figure (x)

Scroll down to the checkpoints under management section and disable(uncheck) it if not required as per the customer requirement as shown in Figure (xii)
Figure (xiii)
Click on Connect as shown in Figure (xiii)
Figure (xiv)
Click on Start to start the Virtual machine as shown in Figure (xiv)
Figure (xv)
If you encounter error as shown in Figure (xv). Which means that the physical machine doesn’t have enough/free RAM to start the VM. If not decrease the RAM size of the VM.
Figure (xvi)
If you encounter error as shown in Figure (xvi). Then it means that the Virtual machine processor count is exceeding with the actual processor count of the physical machine. In this case, decrease the processor count in the VM processor settings.
Figure (xvii)
Figure (xviii)
Once all issues were resolved, you can now connect and start the VM as shown in the Figures (xvii) & (xviii)
Figure (xix)
Once booted, you will be prompted to assign the password for the Bitdefender appliance as shown in Figure (xix). Press (c) and assign the password.
Figure (xx)
You now will be prompted to enter the login password to access and configure the Bitdefender Virtual appliance as shown in Figure (xx)
With the last step we completed the deployment of Bitdefender GZ VM Appliance on Hyper-V. You may now proceed for installing the required roles in the VM appliance as per the customer license.
