Bitdefender GZ Agent Install - Linux

Install BEST (Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools) — Linux

This guide explains how to install Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools (BEST) on Linux. Follow the steps below after downloading the installation package from the GravityZone console.

Note: Ensure your system has internet access during installation for the agent to register with the GravityZone console.

Steps to perform

  1. Download the Linux installation package
    Log in to your GravityZone console and create a Linux package under Network > Packages. Then, download it to your Linux system.
  2. Open Terminal and get root access
    sudo su
  3. Navigate to the directory where the setup (.tar) file is downloaded
    cd /home/user/Downloads
    Replace the directory path with the actual location of the downloaded package.
  4. Extract the installation package
    tar -xvf Bitdefender_setup_file_name.tar
  5. Give full permission to the installer
    chmod 777 installer
  6. Execute the installer file
    ./installer
    The installation will begin. Wait until it completes and registers with the Bitdefender console.

After installation, verify that the agent appears under the Network section of your GravityZone console.
