Key Points for Internal Knowledge

1. Renewed Keys for Offline Instances

Offline environments cannot automatically activate renewed license keys. Any renewal, upsell, or modification applied to an existing license key requires manual intervention and the Activation of offline activation codes.

This limitation applies regardless of whether the key is 7-digit or 12-digit.

2. Temporary Key (NFR) Requirement

In scenarios where redeployment is required, a temporary NFR key is mandatory to ensure uninterrupted protection during the transition.

Process:

  • Request a temporary NFR key via the PAN Portal.

  • Share the temporary key details with the Bitdefender team.

  • The Bitdefender Commercial Support team will generate the offline activation codes for the Main and temporary key also and share them with us.

3. Action Steps for License Renewal (Client-Side Process)

  1. Review the current license details:

    • License expiration date

    • Number of protected endpoints

  2. Request a temporary license key:

    • Same product and number of users

    • Validity: 4–7 days

  3. Send an email to the following Bitdefender contacts to request offline codes:

  4. At the customer’s end once the new offline codes are received from product:

    • First, register and activate the temporary offline license key using the provided offline activation codes.

    • Once activated, replace the temporary key with the renewed main license key, using the offline activation codes provided by the Bitdefender team.

One of our customers, “CUSTOMER NAME,” has renewed their license key. As the customer operates in an isolated (offline) network environment, we kindly request your assistance in providing the offline activation key so they can re-activate the license on their existing GravityZone console/control center.

Additionally, we request the offline activation key for a temporary license as well. This will be required as part of the activation procedure due to a known limitation when redeploying the same license key in offline environments, in case an error is encountered during activation.

Draft Communication for Customer (Can Be Shared With Customer)

Dear Customer,

We have received an update from the product team regarding the requested offline keys for the Bitdefender GravityZone On-Premise Console (isolated environment) for the customer “CUSTOMER COMPANY NAME.”

Please find the License keys along with its offline activation codes and instruction to follow for re-activate at Bitdefender On-premise web console (Browser).

In case you encounter any issues activating offline license codes directly for renewed (or upsell) licenses, this may be due to a limitation when redeploying the same license key (7-digit or 12-digit) in the same console. In such scenarios, please follow the instructions below for offline environments.
  1. Before replacing the main license key, please Activate the Temporary License key "KEY" using the provided Offline Activation codes form attached text file (TemporaryLinceKeyName.txt).
  2. The offline activation file is shared in Encrypted archives. Please extract the file using the password provided by product team.
  3. Once the temporary license is successfully activated, replace it with the Renewed Main license key "KEY" using the newly generated offline activation codes form attached text file (MainLicenseKeyName.txt).
The offline activation codes for the license key are attached separately for each key in individual text files: from https://drive.bdsoftware.in/
Open the archive using the following password: PASSWORD

This approach helps ensure uninterrupted protection and avoids activation issues in offline environments.
