Fetch USB/External Device Hardware IDs for Bitdefender Device Control for Manual Exclusions.

Purpose: This executable collects hardware IDs of USB/external devices in the format required by Bitdefender for manually adding device exclusions.

Steps to Perform Manual Exclusion:
  1. Connect the USB/external device to the system.
  2. Download and Execute Get-USBDeviceIDs.exe.
  3. The output will be saved as a text file (USB_Devices.txt) in the same directory from which the executable is run.
  4. Open the text file and copy the InstanceId of the relevant USB/External Storage device.
  5. In the Bitdefender console, navigate to the desired Policy > Device Control > Exclusions.
  6. Enable the Exclusions option.
  7. Click the Add button at the top of the table.
  8. Select the method for adding exclusions: Manually.
  9. Choose the exclusion type: By Device ID.
  10. In the Exclusions field, paste the copied device ID(s).
  11. In the Description field, enter a name that will help you identify the device or the range of devices.
  12. Select the permission type for specified devices (Allowed or Blocked).
  13. Click Add exclusions.
